After months of waiting and preparing, finally here I am in Toronto. Though I know clearly that I am really in Toronto, I often feel as if I am in a dream. So I find it difficult to express exactly my impressions of Toronto.
Luckily enough, I found two photos which can vividly stand for my feelings about Toronto. To tell the truth, I was down in spirits, rather than excited, just before the airplane landed on the airport or Toronto. The airplane had been delayed for about five hours. As a result, we had to wait in Pudong International Airport for five extra hours. And before the airplane took off, I made a telephone call to my daughter, who is 11 years old. Instead of saying anything, she burst out crying. The air conditioner made it so cool on the plane that I caught a cold and had a fever. All these made me rather terrible. But when we walked out of the airport, we were warmly welcomed by the teachers from Suon. And on our way to Suon, we saw a calm, peaceful and beautiful city. Toronto seems to me just like the following picture. It is so beautiful and calm, and a little bit mysterious. Toronto is just like a mysterious girl, who gives out an invitation, which guides me out of the terrible darkness and brings me hope.
Now I have been in Toronto for nearly a week. During the week, I met quite a few people. I walked through several neighbouring streets. I visited several places, among which the most attractive one is Casa Loma Castle. Toronto now seems to me like the second picture. It is still so beautiful, so clean and calm, but so bright and clear now. Everything is in apple pie order, everyone is so kind and helpful and warmhearted. People from all over the world live peacefully together and share happily the beautiful nature. Toronto is the like the Old Castle in the picture. It is like a giant who stretches out his strong and warm arm and is ready to comprehensively embrace all. It is still so mysterious that I am anxious to explore more and to learn more about it.
